Williams claimed in post match interview that we don't have a problem with scoring goals - just conceding too many.
Well if you haven't got the players up front capable of holding the ball up and bringing the midfielders into play (McGleish being an honourable exception), you'll be forced to drop deeper and, of course, goals will be conceded.
We rely on a 36 year old to score our goals and with the games coming thick and fast over the Christmas period, McGleish is unlikely to be able to play all the games. Jarvis has three league goals to his credit and the other two have none. The transfer window's shut so we're stuffed until January.
I fully expect us to be in the bottom four by then. Williams needs to get rid of his mate Scowcroft who is a massive drain on this clubs budget and clearly not interested. He needs to bring in a hungry young forward who's really interested in making his mark.
I'm beginning to think that the manager we have now is on a par with Brush (i.e. tactically clueless and never prepared to admit he's made a mistake).
